Harvard’s endowment returned 27.1 percent in fiscal 2026, reaching a record $68 billion.
It was the fund’s strongest performance in five years, up about $11 billion from a year earlier.
The return beat the S&P 500’s 22.3 percent and the 18.9 percent median for large endowments.
The standout driver was a $2.2 billion stake in SpaceX, its largest holding.
SpaceX went public in June 2026 in what was described as the largest IPO in history.
The endowment also added a $239 million stake in AI chipmaker Cerebras and more Nvidia and TSMC.
SpaceX shares closed at $148.62 on October 15, about 7.7 percent below their first close.
