The Mookuthi Amman 2 teaser is drawing praise as fans catch it on the big screen.

Nayanthara returns as the deity Mahasakthi in the sequel to the 2020 fantasy comedy.

Regina Cassandra joins the sequel as a striking new antagonistic force.

The makers first released the promo on Vinayaka Chaturthi in September.

It opens with a kingdom facing invasion, then cuts to a present-day calamity.

Viewers say the mythological world looks much larger than in the first film.
