Sixteen NHS trusts and health boards say they do not use Palantir’s federated data platform, FOI responses show.

The £330 million system was introduced in March 2024 to link records and help cut waiting lists.

Several trusts said it offered no functionality beyond the tools they already have.

University Hospitals Birmingham, caring for over 2 million people, cited limited benefit over existing systems.

Greater Manchester’s care board called the platform “duplicative” and “retrograde.”

Some health bodies say it has improved waiting-list management and surgery scheduling.

Palantir says it has helped deliver 110,000 extra operations and cut discharge delays by 15.3%.

The government is weighing a break clause in the seven-year deal, as two parliamentary committees urge ending it.
