Zentalis says its drug azenosertib reached 15.8 months median overall survival in a subgroup of platinum-resistant ovarian cancer patients.

The data come from an interim analysis of the DENALI Part 1b study, also known as GOG-3066.

In the Cyclin E1-positive subgroup of 48 patients, median overall survival was 15.8 months.

In the Cyclin E1-negative subgroup of 46 patients, median overall survival was 7.5 months.

Azenosertib is an investigational first-in-class WEE1 inhibitor, targeting a kinase that regulates cell-cycle DNA-damage checkpoints.

Platinum-resistant ovarian cancer progresses within six months of platinum chemotherapy, and treatment options are limited.

The article urges caution: it is a small Phase 1b interim analysis, and survival was a secondary endpoint.

The results will be presented as a rapid oral presentation at the ESMO Congress 2026 on October 23.
