North Korean state media released new photos of Kim Jong Un on Monday, hours after viral claims online said he had died.
The KCNA images show the 42-year-old leader touring a garment and footwear exhibition, inspecting shoes and coats with aides nearby.
His daughter Kim Ju-ae appears in one photo. The images have not been independently authenticated, and their timing is unclear.
The rumors came from Wanjun Xie, a US-based Chinese dissident, who claimed on X that Kim suffered a brain hemorrhage and died.
Xie also claimed Chinese doctors went to North Korea and thousands of Chinese troops were sent to Pyongyang.
No verifiable evidence has emerged for any of those claims, and North Korea has not addressed them directly.
Reports say the exhibition displayed over 77,000 clothing items and 170,000 pairs of shoes, with Kim’s wife Ri Sol-ju attending.
Speculation about Kim’s health resurfaces often, driven by North Korea’s secrecy and his known health risks.
