TWICE leader Jihyo announced on October 21 that she is leaving JYP Entertainment after 21 years with the company.

She has set up her own agency, EMITHAUS, starting a new independent chapter in her career.

Jihyo shared the news in a handwritten letter to fans, rather than through a corporate press release.

Her 21-year tenure covers her training, her rise as TWICE leader and her growth into a major K-pop figure.

Such a long artist-agency relationship is rare in an industry built around seven-year contracts.

Details such as EMITHAUS’s roster, staff and upcoming projects have not yet been announced.

Her move follows a wider K-pop trend of veteran artists founding their own agencies for more creative control.
