Griffin Gaming Partners and Entertainment 360 have launched HITpoint Entertainment to bring video games to film and television.
Griffin is a venture firm with more than $1.6 billion under management and over 100 portfolio companies.
Entertainment 360 clients are already working on projects including the live-action The Legend of Zelda.
HITpoint will source, develop and produce adaptations across genres, from action and horror to comedy and romance.
The company says game creators will stay involved from early development through production.
Griffin co-founder Peter Levin helped back Amazon’s Fallout adaptation, a breakout TV hit.
Recent hits cited include The Last of Us, A Minecraft Movie, Super Mario and Resident Evil.
HITpoint will also look at indie games, drawing on Griffin’s $100 million indie game fund.
