Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in Sharjah on Wednesday to reach the UAE ODI Tri-Series final, despite a career-best 70 from Parvez Hossain Emon.
Bangladesh chose to bat but were bowled out for 160 in 41.2 overs. They needed to win by at least 41 runs to make the final.
Emon walked in at 28 for four inside seven overs, after Yamin Ahmadzai and Azmatullah Omarzai tore through the top order.
He put on 93 for the fifth wicket with Saif Hassan, who made 41. Emon's 70 came off 96 balls, with five fours and two sixes.
Rashid Khan took four for 31, and Bangladesh lost their last five wickets for 39 runs once Saif was out.
Captain Towhid Hridoy blamed the early collapse. "To be honest, we missed 100 runs. That wicket was a very good wicket," he said.
Afghanistan slipped to 95 for three, but Rahmat Shah (67 not out) and Hashmatullah Shahidi (36 not out) finished the chase in 35.3 overs.
Afghanistan play Zimbabwe in Friday's final. Bangladesh leave the series without a win after their earlier loss to Zimbabwe.
