Amitabh Bachchan, 84, has told fans he has been advised to rest for a few days and will not be writing in the meantime.

He posted the message on X on October 21, a day after a similar note on his personal blog.

His X post read: "I've been advised to take some time off for a few days to rest and recuperate, so I'm not able to write anything."

On his blog he wrote that he was "under very strict rest and recuperation" and was not allowed to communicate.

He gave no reason for the medical advice and did not say when he would be back.

Earlier in October he said on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 that he had fallen during a shoot and hurt his left knee.

In July he wrote about hospital care, surgery and intensive care. In May he went to Nanavati Hospital for a routine monthly checkup.

Fans filled the replies with prayers, and many told him he owed them no apology.

He is hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 and is expected in the Kalki 2898 AD sequel. His team has not added anything to his posts.
