More than 100 foreign trekkers are stranded in central Nepal after river flooding swept away hiking trails and bridges.
A pre-dawn landslide at the weekend in Gorkha district blocked the Budhi Gandaki River and sent floodwater downstream.
Gorkha is about 100 km west of Kathmandu. The area includes the Manaslu circuit, a popular high mountain trekking route.
"Those hikers who want to return because of the flood need to be rescued," said Bhuwan Raj Ojha of the Manaslu Conservation Area Project.
Trekkers who want to keep going can do so from safe locations. Ojha said tea houses and restaurants along the route are safe.
Rescuers brought out 321 people on Monday, including 12 foreigners, and the army planned to continue on Tuesday.
No deaths were reported, but five villagers were out of contact after sludge and debris washed away homes.
The flood also damaged three hydroelectric plants, national disaster authorities said.
In August, a glacier collapse and landslide on the China border killed at least 1,380 people, according to early September reports.
The river level has dropped, but officials have not said when the full trail will be passable again.
