Elon Musk pledged on X to give one of his SpaceX shares to every child in America next year.
The shares would be distributed through the administration’s Trump Accounts initiative. Musk called it “the first of many.”
President Trump thanked his “legendary friend” on Truth Social for what he called incredible generosity.
At about $146.03 per share, one share for roughly 72 million children would be worth around $10.5 billion, CNBC reported.
Altimeter Capital CEO Brad Gerstner, whom Musk thanked, called it “the largest philanthropic gift in history.”
Key details are unclear, including how shares would be transferred to minors and who would qualify.
Trump Accounts are tax-advantaged investment accounts for American children under 18.
