Singer D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, returned to a Los Angeles court on Oct. 19 in the murder case over 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The hearing lasted only minutes. Judge Charlaine Olmedo set the next status conference for Jan. 11, 2027.
Burke, 21, is charged with capital murder. Celeste’s remains were found in the trunk of his Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard in September 2025.
He also faces counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and mutilation of human remains.
Prosecutors added special circumstances: lying in wait, murder for financial gain, and killing a witness in a criminal investigation.
Burke pleaded not guilty on Aug. 31 and is held without bail. The public defender’s office now represents him.
His new lawyers said they are working with prosecutors to obtain more discovery, the evidence the prosecution must share.
The district attorney’s office has not announced whether it will seek the death penalty.
