Jailer 2 action director Chethan D'Souza says Mohanlal performed the climax car scene himself, answering talk that a body double had replaced him.

Mimicry artiste Jobi Kodakara, who worked as Mohanlal's body double, told YouTube channel Jango Space that only his hands and legs made the final cut.

One shot shows him changing gears and another shows a foot on the accelerator, both in the airport sequence near the climax, he said.

"My face has not been shown anywhere. The face that people claim is shown in the climax isn't mine," Jobi said.

He also rejected claims that artificial intelligence had been used in place of the actor.

The talk started after he posted photos of himself dressed as Mathew, Mohanlal's character, on release day. He said he regrets sharing them.

When a fan asked on Instagram, D'Souza replied in two words: "It's him." He did not answer a question about trimmed scenes.

Some fans are also unhappy with Mohanlal's overall screen time in the film, Cinema Express reported.

The Nelson Dilipkumar film released on October 15 and crossed Rs 582.45 crore in seven days, according to Sacnilk.
