Jon Stewart has signed a two-year extension to keep hosting The Daily Show on Monday nights through December 2028.

Skydance Television and Comedy Central announced the surprise deal on Monday, October 20.

It includes a separate two-year deal with Paramount+ for his podcast, The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart.

Skydance Television president Matt Thunell called Stewart “the gold standard for satirical television.”

Stewart, 62, returned as Monday host in February 2024, years after leading the show from 1999 to 2015.

His return was first planned only through the 2024 election, but strong ratings kept it going.

His Monday episodes regularly outperform the rest of the week, and his monologues often go viral within hours.

The deal comes amid big changes at Paramount after its merger with Skydance.
