Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are set to shoot a big song for King in Mumbai from 26 October, Variety India reported.
The shoot is expected to run for about a week, with choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant in charge. Preparations are already under way.
Earlier reports said the team might travel to South Africa for the number. The latest update says the makers picked Mumbai instead.
It is Deepika's first return to a film set since she and Ranveer Singh welcomed their second daughter, Devi Padukone Singh.
King will be the sixth film for the pair. Their partnership began with her Hindi film debut, Om Shanti Om, in 2007.
Since then they have made Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan and Jawan together.
Siddharth Anand directs and co-wrote King. Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures are producing it.
Reported cast members include Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi and Raghav Juyal.
This will be Vaibhavi Merchant's eighth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. She also worked with him on Jawan.
The song title, composer and other artists have not been disclosed, and the makers have not officially confirmed the dates.
King is due in cinemas on 24 December. Trade reports put the budget at about Rs 450 crore, a figure the makers have not confirmed.
