President Trump signed an executive order creating a new women’s health division within the National Institutes of Health.

The order also creates the first White House task force dedicated to women’s health.

He signed it alongside First Lady Melania Trump. HHS must set up the division within 90 days.

It will work with the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health, created in 1990, rather than replace it.

Chief of staff Susie Wiles and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will lead the task force.

The task force will cover all life stages, from infancy through menopause and healthy ageing.

The division will research conditions that uniquely or disproportionately affect women.

It also aims to speed the move of scientific discoveries into clinical care.
