The Oklahoma City Thunder agreed to a five-year, $139 million rookie-scale extension with guard Cason Wallace on Sunday.
The 22-year-old’s deal came just before Monday’s rookie extension deadline, as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
It keeps Wallace in Oklahoma City and removes the chance of him hitting restricted free agency next summer.
Wallace averaged career highs of 8.6 points and 2.6 assists last season, shooting 35.1% from three.
He led the league with 150 steals and earned an All-Defensive second team selection.
With Lu Dort traded this summer, Wallace becomes the Thunder’s top point-of-attack defender.
The Thunder hold 2027-28 team options on Ajay Mitchell, Jared McCain and Jaylin Williams.
That is also when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s four-year, $285 million super max extension begins.
