Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is out for the rest of the 2026 regular season after injuring his left knee in Week 2.

He was hit by two Rams defenders on the opening drive of a 28-6 Monday night loss at SoFi Stadium.

Dart had surgery on Sept. 25 to repair a full meniscus tear, with MCL and PCL damage also addressed.

His ACL was intact. The expected recovery time is four to six months.

In Week 1, Dart was the first QB to open a season with three passing TDs, 50 rushing yards and a 130 rating.

Jameis Winston replaced him, and on Sept. 28 the Giants traded for J.J. McCarthy.

The Giants plan to start McCarthy, acquired from Minnesota, in Week 7.

Coach John Harbaugh has not ruled out a playoff return but called it “a little ambitious.”
