The Los Angeles Rams, the preseason Super Bowl favourites, are 2-4 after losing at home to Arizona as 12.5-point favourites.

No NFL team has started a season 2-4 and gone on to reach the Super Bowl.

Arizona came in at 1-4 and did not score a touchdown. "We won't win a game unless we figure out how to not beat ourselves," Sean McVay said.

McVay also said receiver Davante Adams ruptured his hamstring and will miss six to 10 weeks.

The drop in the rankings is steep. NFL.com's Nick Shook moved the Rams from 12th to 24th, and ESPN dropped them from 8th to 14th.

Pro Football Talk has them 17th, down seven spots, and the Sports Illustrated consensus rankings put them 18th of 32.

The 6-0 San Francisco 49ers top nearly every list and got all eight first-place votes in the consensus rankings.

The 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs are second. Buffalo (5-1), Minnesota (5-0) and Jacksonville (4-2) fill out most top fives.

In the NFC West the Rams trail the 49ers and the 3-3 Seahawks, and sit level with Arizona at 2-4.
