A pickup truck drove through a youth soccer game in Wichita, Kansas, killing a six-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man.
It happened around 3:25pm on Saturday at the Stryker Sports Complex, and 11 others went to hospital.
A witness said the black pickup struck several people before stopping 100 to 200 yards down the fields.
Police said the injured, aged five to 68, included five children and six adults, none believed life-threatening.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Garden City, is in custody and cooperating with investigators.
Police have not determined the truck’s speed or how it got onto the field; the complex has surveillance video.
First responders found community members already giving aid, including CPR, when they arrived.
The state’s first girls flag football title games on an adjacent field were postponed.
