Google is replacing custom Gemini Gems with a more built-in system it calls skills.

The company described the switch for United States users and set it for November.

People will use skills inside the Gemini app instead of maintaining separate Gems.

The article says the tools are meant to handle heavy jobs and repetitive daily tasks on their own.

Google says existing personal setups will move over and that personal data should not be lost.

Eligible accounts will be migrated automatically, according to the company.

Google also said free access will remain for standard users.

The piece says the change alters how custom prompts are saved and run.
