Charles Schwab and JPMorgan Chase are refusing to let outside AI agents handle customer money.

Schwab CEO Rick Wurster said the firm blocks unauthorized agents, including Meta’s assistant Muse.

“We can’t control it, the client can’t control it, something could go wrong and who’s liable?” he said.

Wurster gets weekly reports showing tens of blocked agent attempts each week.

On October 13, Jamie Dimon said outside agents are “just too risky for clients and for JPMorgan.”

Dimon warned of thousands of rogue agents making the same bad decision at once.

It is the industry’s clearest pushback yet on AI agents as autonomous financial assistants.
