Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel should strengthen ties with India and others in case a future US president turns hostile.
He spoke on Sunday while presenting his security doctrine, nine days before Israel’s October 27 election.
“In two years, a President, man or woman, could come to power who is very hostile to Israel,” he said.
He said Israel must use the rest of Trump’s tenure to strengthen its position in Washington.
He also called for new alliances: “India is not a small country, and there are many others.”
In May, Netanyahu called the India relationship “unique” and India a “huge power.”
He also pointed to Latin America, saying there could be an enormous political change in Brazil.
The remarks came hours before Trump publicly endorsed Netanyahu’s re-election bid.
