Marco Rubio has urged Lebanon not to return seized explosives to Hezbollah.

He delivered the message Thursday in a call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

Lebanese forces seized hundreds of kilograms of explosives in a car last week.

Rubio urged Aoun to hold accountable those who ordered and financed the shipment.

Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah said the explosives belonged to his group.

Sources told Reuters they were meant for explosive drones targeting Israeli troops.

Rubio also pressed for direct military talks between Lebanese and Israeli forces.
