Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt on Sunday evening after unidentified gunmen opened fire at his car in the Pushpa Park area of Juhu in Mumbai. The 36-year-old actor’s driver sustained injuries in the attack and was admitted to Nanavati Hospital, where his condition was described as stable. The Mumbai Police confirmed that Shroff was not hit by any bullet and said a detailed investigation was underway.

The firing took place between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm as Tiger Shroff was leaving a football ground after attending a private event, police officials said. Four to five rounds were allegedly fired at the actor’s BMW car. Eyewitnesses at the scene initially mistook the sound of the gunshots for firecrackers before panic set in and people realised what was happening.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg said two people were injured in the incident. “This incident took place around 7 o’clock. Some unknown individuals arrived at the scene and opened fire on Mr Tiger Shroff as he was leaving after concluding a private event,” Garg told reporters. “Tiger Shroff did not sustain any gunshot injuries; he is completely safe.”

The injured included the actor’s driver, identified as Firdaus, who sustained an injury to his hand and was out of danger, according to the DCP. The second injured person, identified as Mr Chauhan, was also undergoing treatment. Reports described the second victim variously as a bystander and an autorickshaw driver who was caught in the firing.

Tiger Shroff Attack: What Happened at Pushpa Park

The incident occurred in an area under the jurisdiction of the Juhu police station in Mumbai’s western suburbs. Videos of the attack that circulated widely on social media showed several shots being fired at Tiger Shroff’s car as it left the venue. Police teams rushed to the spot soon after and cordoned off the area.

A forensic team visited the scene to collect ballistic evidence and inspect the damaged vehicle, while CCTV footage from the area was analysed to identify the assailants.

Tiger Shroff Firing: Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility

Hours after the attack, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility for the firing through a social media post attributed to gangster Anil Pandit, who is believed to be operating from abroad. The post, which circulated from a Facebook account bearing the name Anmol Bishnoi, named Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu as those taking responsibility on behalf of the gang.

The message alleged that Tiger Shroff had ignored earlier warnings and claimed the actor was on the group’s target list because he was “not heeding our directions” and was working with Bollywood star Salman Khan. It also warned members of the Mumbai film industry against continuing to work with Khan, threatening that those who failed to heed the warning could be targeted next.

However, the Mumbai Police said they were examining the authenticity of the social media post and that the alleged gang’s involvement remained subject to verification. DCP Mohit Garg declined to comment on the claim, saying the investigation was at a preliminary stage. Officers from the Anti-Extortion Cell visited Nanavati Hospital and questioned the injured driver, and police conducted preliminary questioning of Tiger Shroff as well.

Investigators are probing possible links to organised crime, and the firing has drawn attention to similarities with the shooting outside Salman Khan’s residence and the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Police are expected to investigate whether the incidents are connected, officials said.

Tiger Shroff Incident: Probe Widens, One Suspect Detained

The Juhu police and the Mumbai Crime Branch have formed 15 teams to trace the accused, an official said. Police have detained one suspect in connection with the case after identifying him from the clothing he was wearing at the scene, according to reports.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the Home portfolio, spoke to the actor over the phone on Sunday evening and assured him of full support. “We are all with you. We will track down the accused soon. Do not worry,” Fadnavis told the actor, according to the Chief Minister’s Office. The Chief Minister also sought details of the incident from Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and asked him to nab the assailants quickly and take strict action against those responsible.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also condemned the incident and met the actor after the attack. Shinde said the state government would assess threats to other celebrities as well and warned that the suspects would be apprehended.

The attack has sent shockwaves through the Hindi film industry. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has repeatedly threatened Salman Khan, and the alleged warning to Tiger Shroff over working with Khan has deepened the unease. Police said further relevant information would be shared as the investigation progresses.
