Indian smartphone brand Ai+ has offered a first official look at its next device, the Nova 2 Power 5G, revealing the phone’s design, colour options and processor ahead of its India launch. The company has chosen to stage the announcement, sharing a limited set of details now and keeping the rest of the specification sheet for a later date.
The early reveal was reported by Gizbot in an update published on Oct 22. According to the report, Ai+ has confirmed the handset’s name and shown how it will look, but has stopped short of disclosing core hardware details such as RAM, storage, battery capacity, camera specifications or display size.
Nova 2 Power 5G design and colours revealed
Ai+ has presented the Nova 2 Power 5G in its launch colours, giving potential buyers a first sense of the phone’s styling and finish. Design teasers of this kind are a common step in the Indian smartphone market, where brands often build interest in stages before a full launch.
The decision to reveal the look of the Nova 2 Power 5G first also signals that the company is close to launch, even though no date has been confirmed. Ai+ has not said when it will share the remaining details, including pricing and availability.
Nova 2 Power 5G runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip
The one hardware detail confirmed so far is the processor. The Nova 2 Power 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, which is built on a 6nm process. The company has not shared any further information about the phone’s performance, memory configurations or battery, so it remains unclear how the chip will be paired with the rest of the hardware.
Chipset announcements often draw attention because the processor shapes the day-to-day experience of a phone, from app performance to battery efficiency. Beyond naming the Dimensity 7100, however, Ai+ has given no numbers, scores or comparisons, and any judgement on the phone’s speed or efficiency will have to wait until independent testing is possible.
Nova 2 Power 5G to be tested by ethical hackers before launch
Alongside the phone itself, Ai+ has introduced Project Open Review 2.0, a programme that gives reviewers, creators and, for the first time, professional ethical hackers early access to test the device before its retail launch. The inclusion of ethical hackers is a new step for the company’s review programme, suggesting that Ai+ wants the phone examined from a security standpoint as well as from the usual angles of design and performance.
According to Gizbot, Ai+ says its previous open review programme drew more than 700 registrations from digital creators. That response appears to have encouraged the company to widen the latest round, opening the doors to professional ethical hackers in addition to reviewers and creators.
Early access programmes of this type allow real-world feedback to reach the manufacturer before a phone goes on sale, and they also generate hands-on coverage that can shape public expectations. Ai+ has not described how the testers will be selected or what feedback it expects from the ethical hackers in particular.
What remains unknown about the Nova 2 Power 5G is still a long list. The company has not revealed RAM or storage options, battery capacity, camera details or display specifications, and there is no confirmed price or launch date. Those gaps mean the phone cannot yet be compared with rivals in its segment, and buyers looking at the announcement will have to weigh the revealed design and processor against the many questions still unanswered.
For now, the confirmed facts are the name, the design and colour options, the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset built on a 6nm process, and the Project Open Review 2.0 programme that will put the phone in the hands of reviewers, creators and ethical hackers before launch. Ai+ has not said when the full specifications, price or launch date will be announced.
