Sony VIZHA went on air on 19 October, marking Sony Pictures Networks India’s entry into Tamil general entertainment.

The channel’s brand line is “Ithu Namma Vibe.” Vizha is the Tamil word for celebration.

It offers Tamil versions of global formats, original series, films and cricket on cable and DTH platforms.

Tamil Idol features A. R. Rahman as super judge, with Andrea Jeremiah, Karthik and Benny Dayal.

Celebrity MasterChef Tamil has Samantha Ruth Prabhu as celebrity judge, with 12 contestants.

Other shows include Notebook 90s, Crime Patrol and Madam Police.

Content chief Rajaraman Sundaram said the channel celebrates Tamil Nadu as “confident, contemporary, rooted in its culture.”
