The BCCI has moved the IPL player retention deadline by two days, from 15 November to 17 November 2026.

All ten franchises were told on Monday, 2 November. They now have extra time to finalise their retained player lists.

The old date clashed with the fifth and final ODI of India's series in New Zealand, at Bay Oval on 15 November.

That five-match series starts at Eden Park in Auckland on 4 November, then moves to Wellington, Hamilton and Bay Oval.

The IPL mini-auction in Goa on 16 December stays on schedule. Every released player goes into the auction pool.

The player registration window closes on 23 November. Teams then have until 1 December to submit their final list of auction choices.

The final auction register, with the player sets, comes out on 3 December, almost two weeks before auction day.

Auction day clashes with India's second ODI against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. The board has given no sign of moving the auction.
