Xsolla will take part in the India Game Developer Conference 2026, known as IGDC, and will host an evening event in Chennai on 28 October. Xsolla Connect Chennai 2026 runs from 8 pm to 11 pm IST at the Trident Hotel, Chennai. The event is aimed at industry partners, developers and leaders who work in video games in India.
The evening is headlined by a panel called “Learning from the World: India’s Opportunity in the Global Games Economy”. The panel will look at how India can move from a large player base and a services base to a stronger place in the global games market, by learning from markets around the world. Xsolla announced its participation in a BusinessWire release on 27 October.
Juyeon Lee, Senior Vice President, APAC at Xsolla, said India’s video game industry represents an intersection of creativity, technology and community. Lee said IGDC brings together the people and companies building the next generation of video games, and that Xsolla will be in Chennai to meet developers and industry leaders.
Lee also said Xsolla is keen to join the conversation with the network shaping India’s place in the global video game ecosystem. That network includes developers, studios, publishers, investors and other industry groups. The release does not name the other panel members for the Chennai evening, and it does not give a full agenda beyond the headline panel.
Xsolla and the Chennai evening
Xsolla Connect Chennai 2026 is a meeting point, not a conference session. It will bring industry partners, developers and leaders together in one room to discuss the expanding game ecosystem in India. The three hour evening format gives time for the panel and for talks between sessions, though the release does not set out a timed agenda.
The panel title sets the theme for the night. “Learning from the World” points to lessons from games markets outside India. “India’s Opportunity in the Global Games Economy” points to the chance for Indian studios to sell games, services and ideas beyond India. The panel will explore how India can move from a massive player base and a services provider to a global games power, in the words of the release.
That move is a shift in role. A player base means people who play games. A services provider means firms that build parts of games, or run services, for other companies. A global games power would mean firms that create, own and sell their own games to players around the world. The release does not give sales figures, studio counts or market size figures for that shift.
Chennai is a fitting place for the evening. IGDC 2026 is held in Chennai, and the city is home to a growing games community. The Trident Hotel venue puts the evening close to the conference, and the 8 pm to 11 pm timing lets conference delegates attend after the day’s sessions. The release does not say whether the evening is open to all IGDC delegates or by invitation only.
Xsolla and IGDC in India
IGDC was first launched in the early 2000s. It has grown into a major gathering for India’s video game development community. It provides a platform for emerging talent, established studios, international delegations and industry leaders. The conference covers learning, collaboration, networking and growth across the video game ecosystem.
For the company, IGDC is a place to meet the people who make games and the firms that support them. It works with developers, studios, creators and other industry stakeholders, according to the release.
Its participation will involve talks on the role of online platforms in helping communities discover, connect and grow. The release does not list specific products or deals linked to the conference.
India is described in the release as an increasingly important market for video game development and interactive entertainment. That description is based on the growth of the local industry and its links to global markets. The release does not give a ranking for India among world games markets, and it does not give a growth rate for the Indian industry.
The Chennai evening and the wider conference give Indian developers a chance to meet international firms and to hear how other markets work. For international firms, the conference gives a chance to meet Indian talent and to learn what local studios need. That two way exchange is the core of IGDC, as described in the release.
Xsolla Connect Chennai 2026 runs on 28 October from 8 pm to 11 pm IST at the Trident Hotel, Chennai. The headline panel is “Learning from the World: India’s Opportunity in the Global Games Economy”. IGDC, first launched in the early 2000s, remains a platform for emerging talent, established studios and international delegations in India’s video game community.
