Ramayana has collected Rs 32.53 crore in advance bookings for its opening day, according to Sacnilk data reported by Filmibeat on 3 November. The figure was recorded by noon on 3 November and came from the sale of 8.14 lakh tickets across India. The film reaches cinemas on 5 November, two days after the advance booking update.
The opening day presale puts Ramayana among the strongest advance sellers of the year before a single public show has played. Bookings opened to a heavy response across languages, and the day-one number kept climbing through 3 November as more shows went on sale. Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead roles.
Ramayana passes Drishyam The Conclusion presales
With Rs 32.53 crore banked by noon on 3 November, Ramayana moved past the opening day presale figure of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam The Conclusion, which stood at Rs 31.65 crore. That made Ramayana the second highest day-one advance booking collection of 2026 so far, Filmibeat reported. Only Dhurandhar 2 sits ahead of it, with Rs 52.35 crore in presales for its opening day.
The gap to the top spot remains wide, but the trade will watch whether Ramayana closes part of it in the final two days of booking. Advance sales usually pick up sharply in the last 48 hours before release, as show timings firm up and audiences in smaller centres buy tickets. The film has already sold more than eight lakh tickets for day one alone, a count that covers Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions.
The film has been in the news at every stage of its campaign, from teaser and trailer to songs and posters. Filmibeat noted that the film drew a strong response after its premiere in Los Angeles, with audiences praising the film since that screening. The presale numbers suggest that response has carried into ticket counters in India as well.
Ramayana advance bookings for the opening weekend
The opening weekend picture looks larger still. The film has earned more than Rs 100 crore from advance bookings for the opening weekend, according to the report. Sacnilk data put the India advance booking total at more than Rs 60 crore for the four days from 5 November to 8 November, while overseas bookings stood at more than Rs 40 crore.
Those four-day figures include blocked seats, which exhibitors hold back before release, so the final public sale count will differ from the headline gross. Even allowing for that, the scale of the advance is unusual for a pre-Diwali release, a window the trade has long treated as soft for big films. The film opens on 5 November, ahead of Diwali, rather than on the festival day itself.
The film is touted to have been made on a budget of Rs 2000 crore, Filmibeat reported, which makes it one of the most expensive Indian films attempted. A budget of that size raises the bar for the opening weekend, since the film needs a long run after release to recover its cost. The advance booking start gives it a head start that few Indian films have enjoyed.
Ramayana cast, languages and release plans
Ramayana brings together an ensemble cast for the first time, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Ram and Yash playing Ravana. Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and the cast also includes Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Rakul Preet Singh, Ravi Dubey, Vivek Oberoi, Sunny Deol and Anupam Kher. The face-off between Kapoor and Yash as Ram and Ravana has drawn much of the fan attention around the film.
The film is releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, and will also be dubbed in 40 languages across the world, according to the report. That wide language plan matches the scale of the production, which is planned as a two-part retelling of the epic. Nitesh Tiwari returns to direction after three years with the film.
With paid previews planned and the main release set for 5 November, the next two days of booking will decide how high the day-one advance climbs. The film has already passed one 2026 benchmark in Drishyam The Conclusion, and the trade will measure its final presale against Dhurandhar 2 before the first shows begin.
