Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has crossed Rs 582.45 crore at the worldwide box office in its first week in theatres, trade tracker Sacnilk reported on October 22. The film collected Rs 28.15 crore net in India on Wednesday, October 21, its seventh day of release, a drop of 39.9 percent from Tuesday's Rs 46.80 crore. With India net collections now at Rs 317.20 crore, the film has entered the Rs 300 crore club in a week, and the Jailer 2 box office run makes it one of the fastest Indian films to reach that mark.
The Jailer 2 box office total splits into Rs 371.45 crore of India gross and Rs 211 crore from overseas markets. Wednesday alone brought Rs 7 crore from international markets. The film played 14,470 shows across India on its seventh day at an overall occupancy of 34.7 percent. It released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada versions, and the southern versions have driven almost the entire first-week total.
Jailer 2 box office: day 7 in numbers
The Tamil version remains the engine of the Jailer 2 box office. On Wednesday it earned Rs 18.50 crore from 6,914 shows at 45.1 percent occupancy. The Telugu version collected Rs 6 crore across 2,187 screenings. The Hindi version added Rs 3 crore from 5,183 shows at 16 percent occupancy, while the Kannada version contributed Rs 65 lakh from 186 shows at 55 percent occupancy, the highest of the four versions.
The day-wise India net run shows how the Jailer 2 box office built its total: Rs 59.70 crore on opening day, Rs 37.10 crore on Friday, Rs 47.25 crore on Saturday, Rs 55.85 crore on Sunday, Rs 42.35 crore on Monday, Rs 46.80 crore on Tuesday, and Rs 28.15 crore on Wednesday. Tuesday's Rs 46.80 crore was the film's strongest weekday after the opening weekend. Cumulatively, Tamil shows have contributed Rs 225.70 crore, Telugu Rs 59.75 crore, Hindi Rs 28.25 crore, and Kannada Rs 3.50 crore.
The overseas leg of the Jailer 2 box office has also held up. Wednesday brought Rs 7 crore from international markets, taking the cumulative overseas gross to Rs 211 crore, a little over a third of the worldwide total. The split underlines the film's pull among Tamil audiences abroad, where the film has drawn steady crowds through the week.
Sacnilk's estimates are compiled from trade tracking across theatres, and the final figures announced by the producers sometimes differ slightly. The portal's day-wise numbers have been cited across the trade press through the film's first week.
The Wednesday drop follows the usual midweek pattern for big releases, with collections expected to pick up again over the weekend.

The Jailer 2 box office total puts the film on the list of the fastest Indian films to cross Rs 300 crore net in India. Pushpa 2: The Rule and Jawan did it in five days. Pathaan and Animal took seven. Gadar and Stree 2 needed eight, and Dhurandhar took nine. At seven days, Jailer 2 matches Pathaan and Animal.
With Rs 582.45 crore worldwide, the Jailer 2 box office tally has moved past Drishyam 3, whose global gross stands at Rs 560.02 crore. Jailer 2 is the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026. The only film ahead of it is Dhurandhar: The Revenge, at Rs 1,813.39 crore. Trade reports suggest Jailer 2 could cross Rs 600 crore worldwide over its second weekend.
Nelson Dilipkumar's film is the sequel to 2023's Jailer. Rajinikanth returns as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, who is pulled back into a violent underworld conflict. Mohanlal and Ramya Krishnan play principal roles alongside him.
What the second weekend could bring
The film's first weekend showed strong family turnout, with Rs 47.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 55.85 crore on Sunday. The second Friday will test how much of that audience returns. The Indian Express reported that Jailer 2 is likely to cross the Rs 600 crore mark worldwide during its second weekend. The film entered its second week of release on Thursday, October 22.
