POCO has listed the POCO X8s for pre-order on Xiaomi's official Shopee store in Vietnam, revealing the phone's specifications and pricing. It is the fifth model in the POCO X8 series, following the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max in March and the X8 and X8 Power in September.

POCO has followed a two-wave pattern with the X8 family this year. The X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max arrived first in March, and the X8 and X8 Power followed in September. A fifth option now joins the lineup in the X8s.

Before the retail listing, the handset appeared on Geekbench and in the IMDA, EEC and IECEE certification databases under model number 2609CPC5FG. The same model number has also surfaced on certification platforms in Singapore, Europe and Thailand. The filings carry the same 2609CPC5FG model number in each region.

The Vietnam listing confirms the full hardware details of the POCO X8s, which had previously surfaced only in pieces through benchmark results and certification records.

POCO X8s display, performance and cameras

The POCO X8s has a compact 6.35-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The bezels measure 1.18mm, and the panel supports 12-bit colour depth with coverage of the P3 colour gamut. The 1.5K resolution gives the compact 6.35-inch panel a high pixel density for its size.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip runs the phone. The 4nm chip is clocked up to 2.8GHz. The POCO X8s pairs it with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Camera hardware includes a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary camera with a 1/1.55-inch sensor, f/1.77 aperture and optical image stabilisation. The primary camera pairs a large sensor with stabilisation, which should help keep handheld shots steady. The 50MP telephoto camera works at a 57mm equivalent focal length with an f/2.2 aperture. An 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture covers wide shots, and a 32MP front camera handles selfies.

POCO X8s battery and charging

The POCO X8s carries a 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery. Silicon-carbon cells store more energy per unit volume than conventional lithium-ion cells, which is how POCO fits 6,330mAh into an 8.06mm body. Wired charging goes up to 100W HyperCharge, which is PPS compatible, and the phone also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging.

POCO claims more than 24 hours of video playback from a full charge. It also claims at least 80 percent of the original capacity remains after 1,600 charging cycles, which points to a long service life.

The handset has a metal frame, measures 8.06mm thick and weighs 187g. POCO rates it IP68 for dust and water resistance. Buyers in Vietnam can choose white, black or blue.

The POCO X8s ships with Android 16 running HyperOS 3. HyperOS 3 is Xiaomi's latest software layer on top of Android 16. POCO has promised four years of OS updates and five years of security updates, which would carry the phone through to Android 20. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C and an infrared emitter, so the phone can double as a remote for home appliances.

Vietnam pricing and India plans

In Vietnam, the 8GB/256GB version costs VND 11,500,000 (around $437, or around Rs 42,000), while the 12GB/512GB version costs VND 14,000,000 (around $532, or around Rs 51,000). Launch vouchers bring the effective price down to about $313 for the base model and $387 for the higher variant. That puts the listed Vietnam price for the base model well above the Rs 23,999 estimate circulating on a price-tracking site, though neither figure is an Indian price. Early buyers also get a pair of Redmi Buds 6 Play earbuds free. Pre-order deliveries run from November 6 to 9.

POCO has not confirmed an India launch date or Indian prices, and with no BIS sighting so far, an India launch remains uncertain. Indian buyers waiting for the phone have no official timeline or price to work with. A price-tracking site puts the figure at around Rs 23,999, but that number is an estimate, and POCO has published no official price. Some sources describe the design of the POCO X8s as resembling the Redmi K90.
