Salman Khan has returned to playback singing after 11 years with a new song, “Teri Sexy Beauty”, from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi. The song was released in the early hours of Wednesday, 4 November, on the Salman Khan Films Music YouTube channel. It is the fifth song released from the film so far.

The track was written and composed by Sajid Khan, with female vocals by Muskaan and additional vocals by Sajid Khan. Caesar Gonsalves choreographed the song. Bollywood Hungama, which first reported the release, described it as the peppiest number from the film so far.

Salman Khan and the 5:12 am song release

Salman Khan marked the release with an early morning post on social media. He wrote, “Departure time 5:12 am. Flight on time, 2 pegs down taking off with my sexy beauty… pata nahi kahaan mai land karoon.” The post matched the hour the song went live, and fans picked up on the timing at once.

The song pairs the actor with Chitrangda Singh, who plays his wife in the film, and it is their first pairing on screen. The video has the two of them in a light, romantic dance number, with Chitrangda Singh in a red saree. The tone is a clear change from the patriotic track “Jai Hind”, sung by Stebin Ben, which the makers released last month.

Salman Khan last sang for a film in 2015

Salman Khan last lent his voice to a film in 2015, when he sang “Main Hoon Hero Tera” for Nikkhil Advani’s Hero. Before that, he sang “Hangover” for the 2014 film Kick. The gap between that song and “Teri Sexy Beauty” is 11 years, and the return has drawn attention because the actor rarely sings for his own films.

The song itself carries a playful lyric, with the line “Teri sexy beauty ka fan ban gaya hu man, main do peg pee ke aeroplane ban gaya hu” running through the chorus. The mix of romance and humour fits the track, and the choreography keeps the focus on the two actors rather than a large set piece.

The new song also keeps the film in the news while its release date stays undecided. Five songs are now out, and each one has given the film a fresh round of coverage, with the latest doing the most because Salman Khan sang it himself. The music campaign has carried the film through months without a trailer or a date.

The earlier songs set a patriotic tone, with “Jai Hind” arriving around Dussehra on 20 October. The new track breaks that mood entirely, and the contrast between the two songs has become part of the conversation around the film.

Maatrubhumi is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salman Khan Films. The film was earlier titled Battle of Galwan, and it is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. The actor plays Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, one of the 20 Indian soldiers who lost their lives in the confrontation.

Salman Khan and the Maatrubhumi release wait

The film still has no confirmed theatrical release date. It was first scheduled for April this year, and the date has moved since then, with 13 November mentioned in some reports but never confirmed by the makers. The film has also been through reported reshoots, and it was still awaiting a screening with the Central Board of Film Certification when the song released.

The trailer, which runs four minutes and 43 seconds, received a U/A 16+ certificate from the board on 4 November, and it was expected to be unveiled on 6 November. That gives the music campaign a clear next step, with five songs out and the trailer to follow.

Defence journalists Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, co-authors of the India’s Most Fearless series, said on 5 November that their formal association with the film has come to an end. They said the film has moved beyond the account of the 2020 clash in their work. The makers have not commented on the statement.

For now, the song is the talking point. “Teri Sexy Beauty” is out on the Salman Khan Films Music channel, and it is the first time in 11 years that the actor has sung for one of his own films.
