Ramayana advance booking has sold about 2 lakh tickets for opening day in India’s two largest national cinema chains, three days before the film reaches theatres. Pinkvilla reported on 2 November that the figure covered PVR Inox and Cinepolis as of 11:45 pm on 1 November, and that it counted only the opening day, not the full opening weekend. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is scheduled to release on 5 November, and the early sales give it a strong start in the national chains before bookings open more widely.

Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey also cast. The film is the first part of a two part adaptation of the epic, and it is one of the largest Indian releases of the year in terms of scale and screen count. Pinkvilla said the makers are yet to open full bookings in non national chains, single screens and South Indian markets, which means the 2 lakh figure is only part of the eventual advance total.

Ramayana advance booking in national chains

Ramayana advance booking in PVR Inox and Cinepolis is the clearest early signal of demand, because those chains report sales in a consistent way and cover major cities across India. About 2 lakh opening day tickets in those two chains alone points to heavy interest in metropolitan centres, where large format and premium screens are concentrated. Pinkvilla also reported that IMAX cinemas are filling fast, with almost all prime seats already booked. That detail matters because premium screens carry higher ticket prices.

The timing of the advance also matters. Pinkvilla noted that the final stretch, from the Monday before release to the day before release, often changes the outlook for a large film, because many viewers wait until the release week to book. Ramayana advance booking is therefore likely to rise sharply on 3 and 4 November, when bookings in other chains and single screens open and when word about screen availability spreads. By the Monday before release, trade watchers will have other films to compare it with, including Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which opened general weekend sales four days before its own release.

Ramayana advance booking and the wider total

Other trade reports put the wider Ramayana advance booking total higher, because they include blocked seats and second day sales. One report, citing Sacnilk data as of 9:30 pm on 1 November, put first day advance sales at Rs 24.15 crore gross including blocked seats, and Rs 20.32 crore excluding blocked seats. The same report put the two day total at about Rs 37.10 crore including blocked seats, with about 8.52 lakh tickets sold across the first two days. Those figures cover more screens than the national chain count alone, and they show how blocked seats, which cinemas hold for later release, can lift the reported gross above the number of tickets actually sold to viewers so far.

Zoom TV, citing data as of 5 pm on 1 November, put the opening day advance gross at Rs 20.15 crore, with 4.54 lakh tickets sold across 13,256 shows excluding blocked seats. That report placed Ramayana third among the highest day one advance grossers of 2026, behind Dhurandhar 2 and Drishyam 3, and said Karnataka led the territories with Rs 3.96 crore gross. The differences between reports come from counting time and blocked seats, so each figure is a snapshot, not a final total. All of the reports agree on the direction: advance sales are strong, and the film has a head start before its final booking stretch.

Ramayana advance booking before the 5 November release

Ramayana advance booking will be watched closely because the film faces a crowded Diwali week. Jailer 2 is still in cinemas after crossing Rs 800 crore worldwide, and Suriya’s Scene and Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2 are due on 6 November, a day after Ramayana. The competition for screens will be sharp, and a strong advance helps Ramayana secure premium shows in the opening weekend. It also gives exhibitors confidence to hold large format screens for the film through the first week.

The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra with Yash, and Ramayana advance booking covers Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions, as well as international versions for overseas audiences. The first part focuses on the early arc of the epic, and the cast includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Arun Govil as Dasharatha and several other actors in supporting roles. Ramayana advance booking figures reported here are trade estimates, and Pinkvilla states that its figures are subjective trade estimates compiled from commercial parameters and advance trends, not finalised collections. Final opening day figures will be reported after 5 November, once theatres report actual ticket sales.
