FC Goa scored in the fifth minute of added time to rescue a 1-1 draw against Sporting Club Delhi in the Indian Super League 2026-27 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao, Goa, on Wednesday. FC Goa had trailed since the 52nd minute, when Juan Pena gave Delhi the lead, but Alex Vallejo met a free kick from Francisco Feuillassier in front of the goalkeeper in the 90+5th minute to level the match. The goal denied Delhi a first win of the ISL campaign and gave Goa a point from a match in which they had created the better chances.

Both sides began with attacking intent, pressing high in search of an early breakthrough. FC Goa threatened first in the eighth minute, when Samsanga narrowly missed the target at the far post. The forward thought he had found the net in the 19th minute after being played through by Feuillassier, but his effort was ruled out for offside. Goa kept creating chances through the first half, and Muhammed Nemil fired just over the crossbar in the 37th minute after a neat first touch opened up space in the final third. Delhi, for their part, stayed organised and waited for a chance on the counter.

FC Goa fall behind after the break

FC Goa resumed on the front foot after the interval, and Nemil picked out Feuillassier inside the six yard box early in the second half. Delhi goalkeeper Nora Fernandes produced a save to keep the scores level, and that stop proved important within minutes. Delhi broke quickly on the counter in the 52nd minute, with Rodrigunho supplying the assist for Pena, who finished with his right foot to give the visitors the lead. The goal came against the run of play, but it put Delhi in a position to protect a lead for the first time in the match.

From that point, FC Goa had to chase the game. The hosts pushed more players forward and put Delhi under sustained pressure, but the visitors defended in numbers and looked close to holding on for three points. Goa had already been denied by the offside flag once and by Fernandes once, and the clock became their main opponent as the match moved into its final 10 minutes. Delhi, meanwhile, tried to slow the game down and see out the remaining time, knowing that a first win of the season was within reach.

FC Goa late push and the equaliser

The hosts stepped up their search for an equaliser as time ran out. A defensive error from Delhi presented Vallejo with an opportunity in the first minute of added time, but his cross led to no breakthrough as Chiki failed to hit the target. Goa kept pressing, and in the fifth minute of added time, Feuillassier delivered a free kick into the box. Vallejo timed his run to meet the delivery in front of the goalkeeper and turned the ball home, sparking celebrations among the home support at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Delhi will still feel they let two points slip, having led from the 52nd minute until the final moments of added time. Pena’s goal had looked set to secure their first win of the ISL campaign, and the late concession means they must wait at least one more match for that first victory. For Goa, the point keeps them moving in the early weeks of the season, when draws at home can matter as much as wins away.

FC Goa and Delhi after the Margao draw

Goa will take confidence from the way they kept going until the final whistle in Margao. The side created chances in both halves, and the late goal rewarded that persistence, even though the performance also showed areas to improve, including finishing in the first half and defending the counter that led to Pena’s goal. Vallejo’s goal was the decisive moment, but Feuillassier’s delivery and the movement in the box were just as important in turning a free kick into a goal at the death.

Delhi, meanwhile, can take some encouragement from a point away from home and from a counter attacking goal that showed their threat on the break. Rodrigunho’s assist for Pena was the clearest example of that threat, and Fernandes made a save at an important moment in the second half. The frustration for Delhi is plain, since they were five minutes into added time and still ahead, but a draw on the road in the ISL is still a result to build on. The final score in Margao was FC Goa 1, Sporting Club Delhi 1, with Pena scoring for Delhi in the 52nd minute and Vallejo equalising for FC Goa in the 90+5th minute.
