Pinkvilla published its list of 31 new releases for November 2026 on 31 October, and Ramayana Part 1 sits at the top of it. The film opens in cinemas on 5 November 2026, days ahead of the Diwali week, and it is the most widely discussed title on the month’s slate. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi lead the cast of the two-part epic.

Ramayana Part 1 is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It follows Prince Rama, who is sent into a 14-year exile with Sita and Lakshmana. Their time in the forest turns when Ravana, the king of Lanka, abducts Sita, and the story builds toward a battle between Rama and Ravana. Pinkvilla lists the film as a theatrical release, with no streaming date attached to it.

Ramayana Part 1 cast, formats and second part

Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Yash plays Ravana and Sai Pallavi plays Sita in Ramayana Part 1. The cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, Anupam Kher and Kajal Aggarwal. Namit Malhotra produces the film through Prime Focus Studios, with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Dharma Productions distributes the film in the Hindi-speaking market, and Sony Pictures handles distribution outside India.

The film releases in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, and it plays in premium formats including IMAX. Part 2 is planned for Diwali 2027. That two-part shape means the November release covers the exile and the abduction of Sita, while the second film will carry the story forward.

Ramayana Part 1 held its world premiere in Los Angeles on 27 October 2026, at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Pinkvilla reported that viewers at the premiere praised the film’s scale and the performances of its leads, with Sai Pallavi drawing particular appreciation for her screen presence. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi attended the event with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra.

Advance sales point to a strong opening. PVR INOX said Ramayana Part 1 crossed 2.5 lakh advance bookings across its circuit ahead of the 5 November release. The exhibitor’s figure was reported as the film headed into a six-day festive window, which cinema chains count among the most valuable periods of the year.

The list itself mixes large theatrical releases with streaming titles, and it places the mythological epic ahead of titles from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema as well as Hollywood releases. That breadth reflects a month in which festival audiences have a wide set of options, from family films to comedy, and in which exhibitors expect the Diwali period to drive footfall across circuits.

What else arrives with Ramayana Part 1 in November

The month’s theatrical slate is crowded around Ramayana Part 1. Scene, starring Suriya and directed by Jithu Madhavan, arrives on 6 November and follows a rebellious officer forced to reopen an unresolved case. Mookuthi Amman 2, starring Nayanthara and directed by Sundar C, also arrives on 6 November, with a story that spans two timelines. Bhogi, starring Sharwanand and directed by Sampath Nandi, follows on 12 November.

Later in the month, OM Chapter 1: Udhiram, starring Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela, arrives on 20 November. Godzilla Minus Zero, directed by Takashi Yamazaki, is listed for 20 November as a tentative date. Yeh Prem Mol Liya, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari and directed by Sooraj Barjatya, arrives on 27 November, the same day as Gunmaaster G9, starring Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh.

Ramayana Part 1 and the November streaming titles

Streaming titles fill out the rest of Pinkvilla’s November list. A Dog’s Perfect Christmas, starring Dennis Quaid, reaches Netflix on 4 November, and Guarding Stars, starring Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki, follows on Netflix on 18 November. The Cat in the Hat, with Bill Hader in the voice cast, arrives in cinemas on 6 November, and Focker-In-Law, starring Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller and Ariana Grande, arrives on 25 November.

The list runs to 31 titles in all, covering Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and international films, along with streaming shows. Ramayana Part 1 opens in cinemas worldwide on 5 November 2026.
