The trailer launch is the next promotional step for the film, which stars Shraddha Kapoor in the title role and is listed for a theatrical release on December 4, 2026.
Eetha is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Laxman Utekar and Karishma Sharma under Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations. The film is based on the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, the Lavani and Tamasha performer known as Eetha Bai. Kapoor plays Vithabai, and the story follows her contribution to Maharashtra’s folk culture and her struggle as a performer. The teaser had already set a performance led period setting rooted in the folk stage tradition.
Eetha first look introduces Hooda as Merchant

The official post introduced the character with the line “Eetha ke dil par raj karne aa rahe hain Merchant”, followed by “Randeep Hooda as Merchant in EETHA” and “Trailer out tomorrow!” Hooda appears in a turbaned, intense avatar in the first look, and the reveal placed Merchant at the centre of the film’s emotional core ahead of the trailer.
By unveiling Hooda separately ahead of the trailer, the campaign gave his character a distinct identity rather than presenting him as a background addition. Box Office Worldwide reported that the choice signals his importance within the film’s larger emotional arc. The trailer on October 30 is expected to show more of how Merchant relates to Eetha Bai, and how their scenes shape the story.
